Roger Arthur Senecal was born on August 3, 1932 in Meyronne, Saskatchewan. A chartered accountant by profession, Roger moved his family (wife Jeannine Millier and four children - Rene, Claude, Paul and Simone) to Gloucester Ontario in 1969.
In the fall of 1969 Roger assumed the role of manager for his son’s Bantam hockey team. He continued to offer his time and considerable talents to the Gloucester Hockey Association until his death from cancer in June 2002.
Roger served as Vice-President, President, Ice Scheduler, Treasurer (+30 years) and in many additional volunteer positions within the G.H.A. He was also on the executive of the ODMHA and ODHA and did volunteer work with refereeing, ringette and baseball.
While on the G.H.A. executive Roger held positions such as Chairman and Treasurer for numerous hockey tournaments. As a gesture of appreciation for his exemplary contribution the Annual Gloucester Rep B Hockey Tournament has been named the Roger Senecal Memorial Hockey Tournament.
